About my Practice

This is a small, intentionally structured practice built on the idea that less is more.

I intentionally work with a limited number of clients in order to prioritize depth, clarity, and quality of care.

As a result, availability is limited and may fluctuate throughout the year. Those interested in working together are always welcome to join the waitlist or reach out about future availability.

About ME

A bit about me before I learn all about you:

Therapy is such an interesting combination of the personal and the professional. I'll share a little about both here so our sessions can focus on you.

Outside of the therapy room, I spend my time walking my rescue pup (who may occasionally make a guest appearance in session), biking, painting, playing soccer, or spending quality time with friends and family. These activities are what help my life feel balanced.

While I have received professional training in the field of mental health, I am still human, and that training isn't a shield. Like many of the people I work with, I also tend to overthink, hold myself to impossibly high standards, and occasionally fall out of balance.

My own experiences, challenges, and passions have shaped who I am, and I have funneled those experiences into my practice. If you're curious about the story behind my practice philosophy, Embrace the Grey, I'd love to share that part of my journey with you. (Read more here.)

Here's how I show up in our space

Clients have described me as authentic, nonjudgmental, and deeply passionate about my work. Above all, I strive to build a therapeutic relationship that feels genuine, consistent, and grounded in trust. I believe that feeling truly understood and accepted is often one of the most powerful catalysts for positive change.

My approach is grounded in the belief that people have an incredible capacity to grow, heal, and make meaningful changes when they have the right kind of support. My hope is that, through our work together, you come to believe (and genuinely feel) that:

  • You are supported.

  • You are accepted exactly as you are, without judgment.

  • You are capable of change.

  • You are the expert on your own life and experiences.

At the same time, I enjoy bringing an analytical, evidence-based approach to therapy. I believe the therapeutic relationship and scientific evidence work best together. Depending on your goals, we might track symptoms over time, use standardized assessments to measure progress, create visual graphs to better understand patterns, or even develop personalized tools to support your growth between sessions. I believe therapy should feel both deeply personal and intentionally tailored to you.

When helpful, I also enjoy assisting people in navigating the broader healthcare system. Whether that means connecting you with a psychiatrist (as needed/desired), helping you establish care with a primary care provider, or identifying other community resources, I believe therapy is often one part of a larger support system, and I'm happy to help you build the team that best supports your well-being.

Education & Experience

Lastly, for those who care: I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health and Addictions Counseling from the College of William & Mary. My experience includes providing individual and group therapy, and working in both outpatient and intensive addiction treatment settings.

The breakdown

I believe the best care happens when a practice is intentionally balanced.

To support this, I intentionally reserve a portion of my caseload for each path to care, including: self-pay, insurance, Medicaid, and pro bono services.

Because each path has a designated number of appointment spots, each also has its own interest list. When an opening becomes available, it is offered to the next person on the interest list for that specific path rather than from a single, general waitlist.

This approach helps create a practice that is both sustainable and accessible, ensuring that lower-cost options remain available over time rather than gradually disappearing as the practice grows.

PATHS TO CARE

Self-Pay

$175

Clients pay directly online for sessions.
Superbills are available for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on the benefits provided by the specific insurance plan.
This rate falls within the typical range for private-pay therapy in Colorado.
Some clients choose self-pay because it allows them to keep their therapy separate from insurance.

Insurance

In-Network Plans

I will soon be in-network with many Colorado insurance plans through Tava Health, including:
  • Aetna
  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • BlueCard® Blue Cross Blue Shield plans
  • Cigna
  • Kaiser Permanente
  • Select Health of Colorado
  • UnitedHealthcare (including All Savers, Surest, GEHA, Golden Rule, and other affiliated plans)
  • Oscar Health

Reduced Fee

$75

I reserve two reduced-fee appointment spaces for individuals experiencing financial hardship.

These appointments are intended to make therapy more accessible while supporting the long-term sustainability of the practice.

If both reduced-fee spaces are currently filled, you're welcome to join the interest list and I'll notify you when an opening becomes available.

Pro Bono

Free

One spot is always reserved for pro bono (free) services within the practice.
In this field, it is considered good and responsible practice to make care more accessible when possible, while also working within our personal limits so that the care we provide remains effective.
This structure reflects both. It allows for some accessibility without significantly increasing caseload size.
A waitlist is maintained for this spot, and when it becomes available, it is offered accordingly.

The Process

1

Book consultation

Contact me to scheduled a 15-minute consultation. This is a brief call to determine fit.

You can ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a sense of how I work. There is no expectation to commit after this call.
Please indicate which path to care you are requesting.

2

Schedule Intake

If you choose to move forward, we’ll schedule your first appointment based on availability. Shortly after, you’ll receive access to the client portal.

3

Complete paperwork

Via the client portal, you will receive a set of forms to complete before your first session.

These include basic background information, consent and practice policies, and a few questions about what brings you to therapy.

They are straightforward and not meant to be completed perfectly. We can clarify anything together in session.

4

Intake Session

The intake is an initial assessment process focused on getting a clearer understanding of what brings you to therapy.

We’ll review your paperwork, talk through your current concerns, and begin to identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

There’s no need to overly prepare or have everything figured out. We’ll move at a pace that allows for clarity, not pressure.

Because intake appointments are billed differently than regular therapy sessions, the cost varies depending on your path to care. We'll review your expected cost before your first appointment so there are no surprises.

5

Treatment Planning

Following the intake, we'll use this session to develop a treatment plan that will guide the direction of our work together.

We'll clarify your goals, identify the challenges you'd like to focus on, and discuss a practical approach for moving forward.

This is a collaborative process, and your treatment plan will evolve over time as we learn more and your needs change.

This session is billed at the standard session rate.

6

Regular Sessions Begin

From here, we begin regular therapy sessions.

Sessions are approximately 50 minutes long, typically held weekly, and focused on working toward the goals outlined in your treatment plan.

As therapy progresses, we'll continue to refine our approach based on your experiences, progress, and evolving needs. At times, this may include exercises or strategies to practice between sessions .
